Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 Standard includes all Exchange Server 2019 features, but only supports up to 5 mounted mailbox databases per server.

The most recent version of Exchange Server Standard has improved search architecture, faster and more consistent failovers, a meta cache database that supports solid-state disks (SSD), a dynamic database cache that supports up to 256 GB of memory, and support for 48 CPU cores.

Better security is provided via support for the Windows Server Core installation option and the TLS 1.2 standard protocol

New calendar features for end users include "Do not forward" and internationalizing email addresses (EAI).

Exchange Server 2019 no longer offers the functionality of unified messaging (voicemail/auto attendant).

Up to 5 mounted mailbox databases can be supported by Exchange Server 2019 Standard on a single server. Edge Transport server function may also be combined with Exchange Server 2019 Enterprise servers. See also edition-specific functionality.

Each server is licensed for Exchange Server 2019 Standard (physical or virtual). Additionally, the clients need Exchange Server 2019 Standard CALs. For further details, refer to the licensing model.
